suggest asking the seller to provide a "termite report” in the offer. So, I want to clarify... it’s not just

about termites—it’s about inspecting the integrity of the wood structure of the home. At The Cutka

What Is a Termite Report?

In California, a “termite report” is more officially known as a Wood Destroying Organism (WDO)

Inspection Report. It’s prepared by a licensed pest control inspector and includes a detailed

assessment of the property for:

• Termites (both drywood and subterranean)

• Wood rot

• Fungus and mold

• Carpenter ants or beetles

• Any conditions that might lead to infestations, such as excessive moisture or earth-to-wood

contact

These reports are categorized into two sections:

• Section 1: Active infestations or clear evidence of damage that requires immediate repair or

treatment.

• Section 2: Conditions that could lead to problems in the future (like leaky plumbing or poor

ventilation) but don’t yet show visible damage.
